Livigno Mountain Restaurants

Tea Borch Rifugio

One of Livigno’s most popular mountain restaurants which opens through the day and also the evenings for its infamous mountain feast evenings and run by Simone and his crew.   Found at the top of the black slope on Carosello side with stunning views over the whole of Livigno – definitely the place for those Instagram photos!

Lunchtime is popular with skiers stopping for lunch and the local pizzocheri pasta is worth a try or some tasty bruschettas.  Afternoons get livelier towards the end of the skiing day and a beer is always good to have before tackling the black home run down where you can head head straight to Alegra Apres Ski.

Camanel, Mottolino

Typical mountain refugio on Mottolino at the top of the Teola chairlift.   If you fancy some lunch on the mountain then you can try the whole roasted chickens with wedges or the beautiful pasta house upstairs.   For those sunny afternoons the vip area with its firepits and blanket covered sun loungers, with views to die for,  is a great place to chill or get up on the tables when the DJ starts his set.   Camanel is one of our favourite places on the mountain and what’s even better you can choose to ski or take the chairlift back down.  Camanel is more of a lunchtime to mid afternoon venue.

Meating Point, Mottolino

The main large restaurant on Mottolino at the top of the gondola with a great choice of food.   If you fancy something quick then upstairs has the panini sandwich bar with a large seating area.   Downstairs you can grab a coffee and some pastries or cake and if you’re really hungry then the self service area has some lovely Italian dishes – pastas, meats, salads and sides.  There is also an outside terrace too for those sunny days taking in the views over the Mottolino slopes.

One of Livigno’s newest mountain restaurants Alpino has proved a welcome addition to the mountain.    At the bottom of the yepi slope on the Trepalle area of Mottolino with a stunning inside restaurant and outside apres terrace.   The menu is full of tempting dishes including seafood and some great wines from the cantina.   Deckchairs outside means you can sleep off your lunch before finishing off your skiing day or just stay for apres time.

Carosello 3000

Self service and a la carte restaurant at the top of the Carosello gondola with a huge panoramic terrace where they have live music throughout the day.  Pastas, meats, pizzas and a cake and coffee area are all upstairs,  and downstairs is the a la carte restaurant.   For the long sunny days the deckchair area is a great place to lie down and people watch or take in the beautiful surrounding mountains.

The Fat Cat on Carosello is a travelling snowcat with fast food and the best pulled pork sandwiches – catch it up at various places during the week on the carosello slopes.

In the Tagliede/Costaccia area there are a couple restaurants on the mountain all with inside and outside seating areas -  these are great spots to head for lunch especially for beginner or low intermediate skiers as you are not far from the town and its an easy run back down to the resort.  Costaccia is also a good stop for a morning hot chocolate or if you fancy something stronger try the local bombardino drink.

La Tea da Cip e Ciop

A typical mountain hut in Livigno and a great place to stop after a few runs for a coffee/chocolate or a spot of lunch.   It’s warm and cozy inside and has a little terrace overlooking San Rocco  if you prefer to dine outside. Set in the middle of a tree lined run.
